Mens County Championships, 6-7 May 2017
Mens County Championships, 6-7 May 2017
Yorkshire qualified for the finals of the Men's County Championships after winning their first three games at Abbeydale Park last weekend.
On Saturday 7 May, they beat Warwickshire 3-2 and Durham 4-1, before demolishing Shropshire 6-0 in their first game on Sunday to secure a semi-final spot.
Their last match was against a strong Lincolnshire side who, like Yorkshire, had won their first three games and qualified for the semi-finals. This match was all about who would finish first and second in the pool and what a ding-dong match it was! Three times Yorkshire came back to draw level from a two-goal deficit but in the end Lincolnshire triumphed 7-6.
Both sides will play at Nottingham Hockey Centre on Saturday 20 May when Lincolnshire will face Kent, and Yorkshire face Somerset for a place in the final later on the same day (times to be confirmed).
