Closes: 01.03.2015
Slazenger HC is looking for a Club Coach whose role would cover with 3 main functions:-

1. To produce a coaching plan for the club
2. To plan and lead the coaching sessions
3. To plan and take the 'talented' junior coaching

1. To produce a coaching plan for the club to ensure consistency and coordination across Junior, Ladies and Mens sections; and to establishment of a coaching committee to help oversee its delivery. Provide support for other coaches in the Club through ‘on the job’ training, coaches training sessions and support for producing training plans.
2. To plan and lead the coaching sessions primarily for men’s 1st and 2nds (8pm to10pm Wednesdays) and ladies 1st and 2nds (7-30pm to 10-00pm Thursdays). This would also include watching matches on a Saturday to help inform and influence these plans.
3. To plan and take the 'talented' junior coaching on a Monday evening from 8pm to 9pm. This is targeted at our older juniors who are moving into senior hockey. Junior coaching is on a Sunday morning but this session is intended to supplement that coaching for and focus on a high level of skills and game situations.
Slazengers is a very friendly family club. We have our own sand dressed pitch on site which was renewed last season, and plays exceptionally well, together with a clubhouse and all facilities. We have a thriving junior section with over 150 members who feed seamlessly into our ladies and men’s senior sides. We have 5 Men's teams and 4 Ladies' teams. The Ladies 1st X1 currently play in the North Division 2 and the Mens 1st X1 in Yorkshire Div 1. We have good individual hockey players and a number of enthusiastic coaches throughout the club. We are looking for someone to improve our senior coaching to help progress the club.

We are looking for someone that
-ideally is working towards or has a minimum of level 3 coaching award
-has played hockey at a high standard
-is friendly, approachable and comfortable working with various levels of ages and playing abilities
-we would also be very happy to work this round playing for the appropriate men’s or ladies sideI on Saturdays

This would be a self employed contract basis. Rates are negotiable depending on experience but would be at a competitive level. There will be other incentives (i.e. if playing on a Saturday free subscription and match fees)

Location: Horbury, Wakefield, West Yorkshire
