Winners unveiled at glittering awards ceremony
On Saturday 23rd May, 240 hockey lovers from all over the country gathered at Reading’s Madejski stadium for the annual England Hockey Awards Dinner. Former Olympian Simon Mason presided over proceedings, with 17 awards being presented during the course of a fun filled evening.
Yorkshire were well represented with three award recipients and our congratulations go to them:
Perkins Slade Lifetime Achievement Award: Roger Lomas
Roger Lomas was not present at the Awards Dinner but rceived his award via a video link. he received his award for his lifelong contribution to hockey at all levels as both as a player, umpire and administrator.
Club or HUA Umpire of the Season: Graham Seaton (Sheffield University Bankers HC)
Men’s Performance Players’ Player of the Season: Barry Middleton (ex-Doncaster HC)
