Description National Umpire Development Plan 2013-2014
Following the HUA Conference on 16th June, Hockey Umpire Associations (HUAs) were invited to comment on a number of proposals designed to strengthen umpire development systems in England.
This represented a further stage in a consultation process that began in October 2012 and which has involved senior Hockey Umpire Association (HUA) representatives, members of the National Programme Umpiring Association (NPUA) executive committee, senior County and Regional Hockey Association (HA) representatives, umpires and representatives from clubs and leagues.

This paper now summarises the operational plan for umpire development for the next 12 months. Success will see the adoption of newly structured umpiring pathway, the introduction of a new entry level umpire training provision, the deployment of a trained and quality assured delivery workforce and the development of resources for umpire developers, coaches and assessors.
